This bike combines agility, power, and control, making it a top choice for riders who want to push their limits and explore technical trails with confidence. Below, we dive into what makes the Alpine Trail E1 a standout performer.
Frame: Series 4 Alloy for Durability and Precision
The Alpine Trail E1 features a Series 4 Alloy Frame, engineered to provide maximum durability, stability, and control. This high-strength frame incorporates 150mm of MultiTrac suspension, delivering superior shock absorption and stability when navigating rough trails. The integrated battery and charging port maintain a sleek and streamlined look, optimizing the weight distribution for better balance and agility.
The 148mm rear thru-axle and the built-in rear speed sensor work together to offer precise tracking and control, which are essential for technical and fast-paced trail riding. The frame’s compatibility with modern MTB components allows riders to customize their bike to achieve an ideal setup, enhancing the overall riding experience. Built for aggressive trail riding, the Series 4 frame ensures that the Alpine Trail E1 remains reliable and responsive across any terrain.
Suspension: X-Fusion and RockShox for Superior Control
The Alpine Trail E1 is equipped with the X-Fusion Trace 36 RC fork, providing 160mm of travel to absorb shocks and maintain control when tackling rough trails. The RockShox Super Deluxe Coil R rear shock complements the front fork, offering rebound adjustment and 205x65mm mounting for optimized performance. This shock system is customizable with different spring rates (300lb for S/M, 400lb for L/XL), ensuring riders can fine-tune their suspension for the best trail experience.
With its precise and responsive suspension setup, the Alpine Trail E1 provides stability and control, allowing riders to confidently navigate technical sections and descents while keeping their focus on the trail ahead.
Motor: Shimano Steps EP6 – Power That Adapts
The heart of the Alpine Trail E1 is its Shimano Steps EP6 Drive Unit, which delivers 250W of power and 85Nm of torque. This motor is designed for consistent and efficient power delivery, providing the extra boost needed for tackling steep climbs and technical sections. The EP6 motor’s responsive pedal-assist system ensures that riders experience a smooth and natural power boost, enhancing performance without compromising control.
With the Shimano Steps EP6 motor, the Alpine Trail E1 becomes a versatile companion for challenging trails, offering the power necessary to conquer steep climbs and maintain speed while navigating rough terrain. This setup delivers a balanced riding experience, ensuring that power and control go hand-in-hand.
Battery: Shimano BT-8036 – Extended Range for Long Adventures
Powering the Alpine Trail E1 is the Shimano BT-8036 internal battery, boasting a 630Wh capacity. This battery provides the range needed for extended trail sessions, allowing riders to explore without worrying about running out of power. Its integration into the frame’s downtube ensures a sleek aesthetic while maintaining balance and stability during rides.
The battery’s efficient design, paired with the Shimano EC-E6002 charger, allows for convenient recharging, making it easy to prepare for the next trail adventure. With its long-lasting power capacity, this battery enables riders to take on long, challenging rides with confidence.
Drivetrain: Shimano Deore 11-Speed for Precision Shifting
The Alpine Trail E1 is outfitted with a Shimano Deore 11-speed drivetrain, offering accurate and reliable gear changes across diverse terrains. The Shimano Deore 11-speed shifter ensures quick and precise shifting, while the SunRace 11-speed cassette (11-51T) provides a wide gear range that’s perfect for both uphill climbs and high-speed descents. This drivetrain setup guarantees that riders have the right gear for every situation, enhancing efficiency and control on technical trails.
The seamless integration of the Shimano drivetrain with the motor system delivers a smooth riding experience, enabling riders to maintain momentum and adapt effortlessly to varying trail conditions.
Braking System: Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brakes for Maximum Control
Control is essential when riding on technical trails, and the Alpine Trail E1 delivers with its Shimano MT420 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes. Equipped with 203mm rotors on both the front and rear, these brakes provide exceptional stopping power, enhanced heat dissipation, and consistent performance even on long descents. The hydraulic levers (Shimano MT4100) offer superior modulation and control, allowing riders to brake with precision.
With its advanced braking system, the Alpine Trail E1 ensures riders have the confidence to navigate steep, technical terrain with absolute control, maintaining safety and stability throughout every ride.
Wheels and Tires: Mullet Setup for Traction and Agility
The Alpine Trail E1 employs a mullet wheel setup, combining a 29-inch front wheel with a 27.5-inch rear wheel. This configuration offers the best of both worlds: the stability and speed of the larger front wheel paired with the maneuverability and traction of the smaller rear wheel. The Vee Tire Co. Attack HPL tire (29x2.5”) in the front and the Crown Gem tire (27.5x2.8”) in the rear, both tubeless compatible, provide excellent grip and resilience on technical terrain.
This mullet setup enhances the bike’s agility and stability, ensuring that the Alpine Trail E1 performs exceptionally across various types of trails, offering riders the confidence to tackle challenging sections.
Cockpit and Control: Ergonomic Design for Optimal Performance
The cockpit of the Alpine Trail E1 is designed to offer precision and comfort on the trails. The Marin Mini-Riser handlebar provides a wide stance of 780mm, ensuring stability and control when navigating tight and technical sections. Combined with the Marin 3D forged alloy stem and Marin Grizzly lock-on grips, the cockpit setup delivers a comfortable and secure riding position, essential for long rides.
The TranzX dropper seatpost, with adjustable travel based on the frame size, allows riders to effortlessly adjust saddle height on the go. This feature enhances versatility, ensuring that riders can quickly adapt their setup when transitioning between climbs and descents, improving overall control and stability.

Useful Product Life
Bicycles have an unquantifiable useful product life. The useful life span of a bicycle is affected by riding style, riding conditions, frame material and construction, and other factors. The warranty period offered by Marin does not guarantee that the bicycle will last forever, or for the life span of the original purchaser. Bicycles should be inspected regularly by an authorized Marin dealer, or qualified bicycle technician to identify any issues, which could lead to a failure. Whether a failed frame will be covered by this warranty, or not, will be determined solely by Marin Bikes, based on an evaluation of the failure, useful life, and any other relevant factors.
To Obtain Warranty Service: In order to exercise your rights under this limited warranty, the complete bicycle must be presented to an authorized Marin dealer for inspection, together with a receipt, bill of sale and other appropriate written proof of purchase, which identifies the bicycle by serial number. Marin cannot return un-repairable unwarranted products to the consumer if they are unsafe to use in their unrepaired condition.
At no time may any retailer or distributor make representations of what is covered or not covered under this warranty without express written permission from Marin. Should a retailer or distributor replace product before consulting Marin, it is at the sole discretion of the retailer or distributor, and may not be reimbursed by Marin. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes property of the customer and the returned product becomes the property of Marin, which may destroy it.
