Built to deliver a smooth, controlled, and dynamic riding experience, this e-MTB is engineered with precision to tackle various terrains, from technical climbs to flowing singletrack. With its advanced suspension system, powerful motor, and high-performance components, the Rift Zone E perfectly balances agility, control, and comfort. Let us dive into the details that make this bike stand out in the world of electric mountain biking.
Frame: Series 4 Aluminum Frame with MultiTrac Suspension Technology
The backbone of the Rift Zone E is its Series 4 Aluminum Frame, meticulously designed to combine strength, lightweight performance, and durability. Constructed with butted and hydroformed tubing, the frame ensures a robust yet agile ride, making it suitable for aggressive trail riding and technical maneuvers. Marin’s engineering expertise shines through in the frame’s design, seamlessly integrating the motor and battery, maintaining a sleek and balanced aesthetic.
Central to the frame’s performance is the MultiTrac Suspension Technology, providing 140mm of rear travel. This suspension system enhances traction and absorbs shocks, allowing the rear wheel to stay planted for superior grip and control on rugged terrain. The MultiTrac suspension ensures that the bike remains stable and responsive, whether you are climbing steep trails, navigating rock gardens, or charging down descents.
The bike's geometry is optimized explicitly for trail riding, giving riders a balanced and confident stance that supports quick handling and stability. With the Rift Zone E, you can expect an agile and controlled ride suited for tackling diverse trail conditions.
Motor: Shimano STEPS EP6 – Power, Precision, and Performance
The heart of the Rift Zone E is its Shimano STEPS EP6 Drive Unit, offering 250 watts of power and 85Nm of torque. This mid-drive motor is designed to provide a natural and efficient pedal-assist experience, ensuring you have the power needed to conquer climbs and maintain speed on flat or downhill sections. The EP6 motor adapts seamlessly to your pedalling input, delivering consistent power while retaining the authentic feel of a mountain bike.
The Shimano EP6 motor features multiple assist levels, allowing riders to choose the appropriate setting for their ride, whether they need a boost for climbing steep hills or want to conserve energy for long-distance adventures. The motor’s compact and lightweight nature ensures the bike remains balanced and maneuverable, enhancing stability when navigating technical sections or tight corners.
Battery: Shimano BT-E8035, 504Wh – Long-Lasting and Efficient Power
To complement the Shimano EP6 motor, the Rift Zone E has a Shimano BT-E8035, 504Wh battery seamlessly integrated into the frame is downtube for a sleek look and balanced weight distribution. With this high-capacity battery, riders can expect a range of up to sixty-two miles (100 km), making it perfect for all-day trail adventures without worrying about running out of power.
The battery is removable and securely locked to the frame, ensuring it remains safe when you park the bike in public areas. The design also allows for easy removal, making charging the battery at home or while on the go convenient. The fast-charging capability ensures minimal downtime, so you can quickly return to your trail adventures.
Suspension: RockShox Recon Silver RL Fork – Smooth and Responsive Control
The Rift Zone E's front suspension features the RockShox Recon Silver RL Fork with 140mm travel, designed to absorb impacts and provide a smooth ride over rough and technical terrain. The fork’s Boost axle increases stiffness, ensuring precise steering and control, even when tackling aggressive and technical trails.
With adjustable compression and rebound settings, the RockShox fork allows riders to fine-tune their suspension based on the trail conditions and personal riding preferences. This level of customization ensures that whether you are riding fast downhill, navigating rocky paths, or climbing technical sections, you will experience smooth and controlled performance.
Drivetrain: Shimano Deore 10-Speed – Reliable Shifting Across Trails
The Marin Rift Zone E is fitted with a Shimano Deore 10-speed drivetrain, which provides a wide range of gears for tackling various trail conditions. The 10-speed cassette ensures you have the right gear for steep climbs, fast descents, and everything in between, maximizing efficiency and pedalling performance.
The Shimano Deore system is known for its durability and precise shifting, even under load. The shifters provide quick and reliable gear changes, helping you maintain momentum and control throughout your ride. This dependable drivetrain ensures you can confidently tackle varied terrain easily, making your trail experience smooth and efficient.
Brakes: Tektro Orion Hydraulic Disc Brakes – Superior Stopping Power and Control
Safety and control are crucial when riding on technical terrain, and the Rift Zone E is equipped with Tektro Orion Hydraulic Disc Brakes for consistent and powerful stopping power. These brakes feature 180mm rotors, providing exceptional performance even in wet or muddy conditions.
The hydraulic system offers smooth modulation, allowing precise control over braking intensity, whether navigating tight corners or managing speed on descents. The reliability and power of the Tektro Orion brakes give riders confidence, knowing they have the control needed to handle any trail challenge.
Wheels and Tires: Marin Aluminum Double Wall Rims and Vee Tire Co. Flow Snap Tires
The Rift Zone E rolls on Marin Aluminum Double Wall rims, which are built to withstand the rigours of trail riding while remaining lightweight. These durable rims are paired with Vee Tire Co. Flow Snap 2.35” tires, offering superior traction and grip across various trail surfaces. The aggressive tread pattern ensures stability and control, providing the confidence to tackle loose soil, rocks, or technical obstacles.
The bike is tubeless-ready, allowing riders to run lower tire pressures for increased traction and a smoother ride. The tubeless setup also reduces the risk of pinch flats, making it ideal for all-day trail adventures. The wide tires and sturdy rims provide stability and control, allowing you to take on challenging terrain confidently.
Ergonomics and Comfort: Marin Mini Riser Handlebar and TranzX Dropper Post
The Marin Mini Riser Handlebar offers a comfortable and ergonomic grip, promoting a riding position that supports control and balance. The handlebar’s design ensures precise steering, allowing riders to navigate trails confidently and efficiently.
The TranzX Dropper Post is an essential feature for any serious trail rider. It provides on-the-fly adjustments to saddle height. This dropper post allows riders to lower the saddle for technical descents or challenging trail features and return it to full height for efficient climbing pedalling. The handlebar-mounted remote ensures these adjustments are easy and quick, enhancing the bike’s adaptability and performance.

Bicycles have an unquantifiable useful product life. The useful life span of a bicycle is affected by riding style, riding conditions, frame material and construction, and other factors. The warranty period offered by Marin does not guarantee that the bicycle will last forever, or for the life span of the original purchaser. Bicycles should be inspected regularly by an authorized Marin dealer, or qualified bicycle technician to identify any issues, which could lead to a failure. Marin cannot return un-repairable unwarranted products to the consumer if they are unsafe to use in their unrepaired condition.
At no time may any retailer or distributor make representations of what is covered or not covered under this warranty without express written permission from Marin. Should a retailer or distributor replace product before consulting Marin, it is at the sole discretion of the retailer or distributor, and may not be reimbursed by Marin.
